Blake Schilling (Final Post)
Overall I am very glad at the way our project turned out. We worked with the material we had and really got to learn the entire process of setting up, shooting, and editing. This project really made me see the industry a bit and realize what needs to be done for a professional standard. Nothing went our way it seemed but in the end i feel that this made our team even stronger because we were forced to overcome many obstacles and put our minds together. All this being said, the project really made us more of a production team, instead of just a bunch of students and a project. Our final product for Operation Hope is now finished and burned to DVD. We just need to give Russ and Operation Hope their copies at the screening. This experience has really opened my eyes to how vast homelessness is in San Diego alone. In doing the research presentation I was forced to explore the realities surrounding this community of people that are wandering through our own cities and towns hopeless without any shelter to go to. There is a problem with homelessness here in San Diego and I really hope that our project and the final video will help out Operation Hope and allow them to gain more awareness and recognition for what they do for our homeless community.
